Item Codes
Every item in the catalog has two identification codes. Both appear on the item detail page as read-only fields with a copy button.Sortly SID
The Sortly SID (e.g.,SLUEDT0156) is the original identifier from the Sortly inventory system.
- Format:
SLUEDTfollowed by a 4-digit number - These were imported when the catalog was created
- Used during the transition period from Sortly
- Read-only — cannot be changed
Part Number (Internal Code)
The Part # (e.g.,BTN-0001) is the permanent internal code assigned by the system.
- Format: 3-letter category prefix + 4-digit sequential number
- Automatically assigned when an item is created
- Read-only — cannot be changed

Using Codes
- Copy to clipboard: Click the copy icon next to either code on the detail page
- Search: You can search by Part # or Sortly SID in the catalog search bar
- Labels: Part # will appear on printed bin labels (future feature)
- QR codes: Will link to the item’s detail page using the Part # (future feature)
