Adding & Editing Items

Adding a New Item

Click the “Add Item” button on the catalog page. The process has two steps:

Step 1: Choose Starting Point

You can either:
  • Browse existing items to use as a template
  • Start from scratch with a blank form
If you browse and select an existing item, the form pre-fills with that item’s details (name, category, specs, etc.). You then modify what’s different.

Step 2: Fill in Details

The form has these sections:

Identity

  • Name — The item name (e.g., “15mm Black Hard Button Plane”)
  • Material Type — Accessories, Lining, or Others
  • Folder — Which primary folder (auto-fills based on material type)

Classification

  • Category — Main category (e.g., Buttons, Zippers, Rivets)
  • Subcategory — Sub-group (e.g., Hard Buttons, 4-Part Buttons)
  • Variant — Colour or size variant (e.g., “Gun Metal”, “Small (7”-12”)”)
Category and subcategory suggestions appear as you type, based on existing items in the catalog.
